“Turns out we were the only couple on the tour. So our guide, Paoa, who was extremely knowledgeable, gave us his individual attention. We both greatly enjoyed the afternoon. Castle in Silves was fun to explore. Spent a fair amount of time there. The old church in front of the castle was good too. Best parts of the day were his explanation of the process of harvesting cork and of course the wine tour. Because it was a smaller winery you got to see the entire production. We ended up buying 6 bottles to take back to the condo. Just a most enjoyable tour.”

“The driver was also a guide, meaning he was driving us from one stop to another only, not walking us through the places we were visiting. He was talking about interesting facts, but it lacked information and tips about the places included in the programme. You had to do your own research to be able to know where to go and what to visit during the stops. The one-hour-long stop in Lagos in the morning was not enough, especially keeping in mind the most interesting museums were only opening 30 minutes before our departure. Overall, the visited places were magnificent, but the organisation of the trip should be improved.”

“It was an enjoyable and interesting day, despite the last minute change of instructions re the meeting place. However, we were disappointed that we did not visit Caldas de Monchique - we were told that this area is now privately owned although we later met people who had visited the area. Most of the other members on the tour were German speaking and more information appeared to be given in that language”

It was exactly what we wanted to see and included Our Lady of the Rock, Porches, Praia de Marino, the Seven hidden valleys, Corvoerio, and Silves. Their car was comfortable and they gave us enough time to see each site. They were very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and told great stories. Their English was easy to understand.
